What is mindfulness?

So you've heard something about it, it's in the media, people are talking about the benefits, you may have heard of all sorts of companies (small and large) who are benefiting from it in the workplace.  Companies such as Google, Nike and Apple have used it for a while now.

Mindfulness is all about being ‘in the moment’, it can help you focus, keep calm, in control and feel positive.  It gives us ways to cope better in stressful situations both externally and internally (sometimes our own inner voices can be our worst critic). 

It's can be done in many different ways, deep breathing, appreciating what is around us, focusing on a task we find relaxing, walking and eating to name a few.  It can be done on your own, however having a professional guide you through a mindfulness session is instant, it means participants feel a whole new level of relaxation, mind calming and focus.  Giving them coping mechanisms for the future.

Why Ann?

With a long career in recruitment, I've heard it from all sides:  

Companies; under pressure to perform, wanting a happy work place for employees, worried about recruiting, looking to motivate and retaining people. Fed up with stress being the main cause of sick leave.

Employees; Feeling stressed, pressured, unhappy and under valued.  Leading some people to leaving their current role without a job to go to.

My recruitment experience along with Hypnotherapy and NLP (neuro linguistic programming) qualifications (2012) puts me in a unique position of understanding the pressures that both Employer and Employee are under and the tools to help in the form of mindfulness, focusing and visualisation.

My motivation has always been to help people.  As a trained hypnotherapist, using mindfulness, focusing and visualisation  techniques I can help your staff, relax, focus and  reach their potential.

Are you competitive in areas such as, salary, benefits, holidays, hours of work and their working environment? If not, could this be improved? Bear in mind this could mean you lose the perfect person for the role. Consider what you may need to do to change this.

Just as a potential recruit will aim to sell themselves over the competition, they will want to know what you have to offer that another potential employer can not. Determine your company’s USP’s (unique selling points) and communicate them.
